Boyfriend is Not on Lease - I Want Him Out, Peacefully
My question involves a roommate in the State of: OHIO

Just moved into an apartment about a month ago. Let my new boyfriend move in. He is not on the lease, no utilities in his name. There's no written roommate agreement with him either. I am beginning to realize I made a mistake in letting him move in. He is an alcoholic, has made threats, is loud, and we've had some physical altercations. I want to avoid the police as much as possible. I don't want to see him go to jail for being "threatening" but will go there if I have to. I want to just end this and call it a loss.......

Do I have to give him 30 days, or can I give him 3 days?

If it is 30 days, is the only way to expedite the process to get a restraining order?

    Thanks in advance.

If he receives mail there, then he is considered a resident and you need to give him 30 days written notice.

A restraining order won't necessarily get him out of there any faster, depending on what the judge will or will not grant, but if you've had "physical altercations", it certainly would be a good idea to get one.
