    Caught Shoplifting In Kentucky
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Kentucky

I was caught shoplifting some merchandise from Wal-Mart today. I was caught once before a few years ago, took it to court, and had the charges dismissed due to lack of evidence. Today, I was stopped at the door with the stuff in pocket, totalling in value of about $52.00. I have a court date three weeks from now. I don't know what to expect as far as consequences. I want to know what you can tell me, considering my state. I can not afford to consult a lawyer, if I could I wouldn't be stealing. I am too ashamed to talk to my family, so I am not even going to tell them I am going to court. It could ruin my family life forever. I need some advice if you can offer me any at all. Trust me, I don't plan to ever steal anything again, not even from the Take a Penny, Leave a Penny.

Consulting an Attorney cost nothing if you find one who grants such consultations. If you cannot afford an Attorney request public defender. You really need an Attorney!

Plead Not Guilty and a attorney will be appointed
for you, this will be a Public Defender

Plead Guilty and be sentanced then and there

Expect the following out of court
    --Fines
    --Community Service
    --Probation

Don't be surprised if you receive a letter from Wal-Mart,
their attorney, or a third party. This is called a Civil Demand,
it is restitution to Wal-Mart for the trouble you caused them.
It can be for up to $500, usually half

Can I expect the Probation to be supervised or unsupervised? I know that supervised could be a bit of trouble for me considering I travel out of state alot for my line of work. I would be more than happy to pay the fines and serve the community service. Is this something I should discuss with my court appointed attorney if I plead not guilty at first?
