    Possession of Paraphernalia, First Offense
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

hi, heres the story in short....had a bowl on me and there was about a hit left in it, i took a hit went to set it down and got pulled over. cop walked up and asked how long ive been smoking. i didnt want to lie so i told him just one hit out of my bowl and i told him it was under the seat. he called back up and a dog squad to search my car. they found no drugs in the car esides the bowl that was cashed. they told me i was being charged with a misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia and that i had to go to jail for 12 hours. i have no criminal background of any sort and have never been in trouble before or even talked to a cop. what charges am i looking at, fines, community service, probation, jail??

    can anyone help me out.

First offense you're probably not looking at any jail time, but community service, fines, probation, and drug awareness classes are pretty standard.

If you haven't done so yet, hire an attorney.
