Does Soc Sec Rep Come and Visit to Your Home?
    Hi To all,

My ques is does Soc Sec Rep come and visit the minor child's home to see how is she doing etc or ask for any doc like receipts etc? am not worried about it though...but just curious...

    Thanks.

It would be rare. Normally, the most you have to do is complete a representative payee report each year if you are receiving soc. sec. payable to you for your minor daughter. As long as nothing seems out of the ordinary, they don't ask to see actual receipts or make a home visit. My father (before he passed away) for many years received soc. sec. for another person & only completed the report & I currently receive it for another person (family member) & have for 20 yrs. & have had to do nothing but complete the report each year.

today and I wasnt able to save anything for my daughter yet so I pray that by putting zero on "saved" portion will not really be a bad thing.

Also, since you are an expert on this already should I say....did you had any "saved" money every year then when you are completing the report?

    Thanks so much.

I have never had any saved money for the person. You really don't get that much soc. sec. & I think they realize that. Actually, I spend part of my money on the person because of the limited amt. they get.

You're welcome. You should be fine - kids are expensive to raise.

Exactly! Ive got 2 daughters...all dependent on SSI....im jobless...cant work...cant afford daycare...not eligible for the state daycare program here because of the eligibility chart they have to follow...we went overboard on the required threshold...sucks! my life i guess sucks....late hubby did not leave nothing at all...as in nothing!!!

Thanks again....This forum is really awesome.....
