Mother Disappeared with Child Now Found Her: Does Not Let Me See Daughter
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: FL & NJ

My fiance has not seen his daughter in 2 years. They used to both live in FL but since then my fiance has left to NJ. The last time he spoke to his ex they got into an arguement b/c she didn't want to let his daughter come to NJ to visit. After that arguement she changed her cell number, job, and there was no way to contact her. The ex always has had a way to contact my fiance through his mom's land line.
We have recently found her and she has been living in Jersey for 2 years! 30 minutes from my fiance all this time. My ex has continued to pay the child support in the state of FL. She never changed the case to NJ from FL.
My ex has contacted her and she has refused to let him speak or see his daughter. My question is where do we go from here? We were planning to file an enforcement to litigants rights.
I would believe she is in contempt for not communicating to him where they moved to, keeping him from his daughter, and now not letting him see her. He does have a judgemnt in Fl detailing everything that was agreed to such as visitation and communicating about the child and not leaving the state without advising my ex first.
Is it adviseable we get a lawyer or can he represent himself in court?

If for some reason he hasn't already done so, he can seek relief through the court that has jurisdiction over the custody case. He can represent himself if he wishes, although if he's been sitting on his hands for two years without making any formal effort to get relief through the court I would question if he's savvy enough to do so. I suspect he will benefit from legal representation.
