Renewal for Green Card After Misdemeanor Class C Conviction
my friend has been in the US for more than 12 years. he was convicted of two misdemeanor class c charges. His dogs got loose out of the back yard. He paid a fine of $252 per charge and he was charged for two dogs. His yard was fenced in, but the dogs got out. he plead no contest, thinking this was just like paying a ticket. the charges were not listed with the local county. Is this something that could keep him from getting his green card renewed which will expire in a few months. he has a biometric appointment, and is wondering if these offenses should be mentioned during the appointment and what is chances are that this will result in a denial of the green card renewal - I-90? Any help you can provide would be appreciated. I am also wondering if the background check would even find this charge, since he was not arrested. He just went in to pay the fine (similar to a traffic ticket).

He needs to answer all questions honestly. Lying will cause him big problems, and these are minor offenses that are unlikely to interfere with naturalization. Lies, on the other hand, could have him packing his suitcases.
