Shoplifting and Immigration, Pennsylvania
My question involves criminal law for the state of: PA
I walked out of the store (Sears) absentmindedly with the stuff on my wrist(bracelet 7 dollars clearance price). I went to buy a camcorder, but they didn't have it in stock so I put down some other items i had in my hands that i wanted to buy but changed my mind later. I was leaving and forgot about the bracelet which i tried on to see how it looks. The security stoped me on the parking lot and asked me to return to the store, i told them sorry and realised what i did, but they wanted to search my bag. I had nothing else except for my personal belongings in my purse. They called a police and holded me in the security room while going through my stuff, after all a Police Officer gave me a citation for 30 dollars (full price of the merchandise). I don't know what to do next (will start looking for an attorney tomorrow). The only thing i'm scared of it's my immigration process (I-485 is about to be filled). What can be the best case scenario? please help
i can't tell anyone in my family about what i went through today. I'm 27 years old, no criminal record, paid taxes :-( and i had no intention so steal that 7 dollars bracelet. :-( i know that all the stories are the same but if someone can recommend a good criminal attorney in PA - pls send me a PM. I plead not-guilty and will need one ASAP.:wallbang:
Re: Shoplifting and Immigration, Pennsylvania
Expect a civil demand from Sears as well, it will come in the mail
from them or their attorneys
They can ask up to $500, it's usually half that, pay it
