What Do I Have to Do to Get Child Support Stopped?
My question involves child support in the State of: IN
I have 2 sons, ages 18 and 20. The 18 year old just moved out of his mother's place and in with his girlfriend. My ex withdrew the 20 year old from school when he was 16. He has been in and out of jail and through many jobs in the last 4 years. He is currently awaiting sentencing for felony theft charges. My ex tells me that I still have to pay support on the oldest one until he is 21 because he still lives with her. That is another 11 months.
Do I need to get a lawyer to get child support stopped?

It would be best to hire an attorney.

Or possably contact your local child support office, they can tell you r help you file a modification request at NO cost
I am NO expert, but that is what I did and I got my order terminated as my son was in jail, even though the child support order called for payment till he was 21. It took a while, but it was free and now she owes me almost $1,000.
