If you voted for GWB in 2000/2004? I mean now that GWB's stupidity has now become legendary both nationally and on the world stage, I'd think that anyone who voted for him would have great regrets in doing so, asking themselves if their judgment is sound.
Sadly, this forum software does not have a poll-posting feature, so we can't get a numerical analysis on the number of people having this kind of feeling about themselves.

One more point. Much has been made of the WMD's that weren't in Iraq. There are two key problems with that argument.

Tons of WMD's HAVE been found in Iraq... just never reported by stateside media.

But, secondly, let's assume that they haven't. Prior to the decision to go into Iraq, it was listed on Amnesty International's top 3 abusers of Human Rights.... and was about to start their stint as the president of the UN HR council.

The UN was, obviously, going to do NOTHING to help a victimized people. They were going to let Saddam and his son's rape and pillage the population... to the tune of some 600,000 people in the last 10 years alone... people that just vanished.

So... let's assume that the president's intel was faulty (thank you Billy Bob Clinton), let's assume that he was wrong... He are a couple of facts you seem to be forgetting...

Iraq routinely (that means on a daily basis) violated the No Fly Zone and shot at - repeat SHOT AT - US planes patrolling it. Shooting at an identified plan is an act of war.

Iraq tried to KILL President George HW Bush during a visit to Kuwait. That's right. Tried to kill a sitting president. An act of war.

Iraq violated, on at least 14 occaisons, the UN articles of inspection that they agreed to follow as part of the cease fire from the original Desert Storm.

Finally, If all this is wrong... and George W. Bush has made the worst mistake for going to war since "Remember the Maine" was found to have been an accident, he freed 24 million people from a dictator.

You may say it isn't our fight. You may say it wasn't the right time.

If not our fight, then whose? If not now, when? We talk a good game about equality and human rights here in the states, but how can we sleep at night knowing that some 70% of the world's population dreams about the rights we take for granted with every breath?

Whatever happened to "If one man lives in slavery, we all live in slavery" and "Might for Right" and all those other platitudes we all said in perfect sincerity before it actually cost us anything.

Now, when faced with the cost of spreading democracy and human rights across the globe, there are those that would much rather we walk away. That we should console ourselves with the knowledge there ARE people on this planet that aren't worth our effort. That there ARE people on this planet that aren't worth our help. That there ARE people on this planet that should be devoid of hope or help.

Maybe we can air drop them some more Hershey bars. I am sure that will help tremendously.

...Now if I did that sort of thing (DUI's and whatnot), I'd be the first to own up to it. Let's assume I did. I'd actually thank the LEO's for perhaps preventing some kind of accident that may have taken my life, or the life of another person.

As far as society is concerned, these are my following complaints:

• Our government is now a socialist democracy instead of a capitalist, free-enterprise system, meaning we are no longer free. For this reason, I cannot take pride in our country. Technically, this country must be renamed, "The United Socialist States of America" because our banking, mortgage-lending and insurance industries are now under complete government control, just like in Russia. What's next? The technology sector?
• With regards to criminals, too many people are being sent to jail that should never have been sent there, because they could have been helped at a younger age. I don't seek to provide an answer to the problem, just indicate that a problem exist that does not exist in other socialist countries (or even free countries, like Japan).
• Our President, the dumbest individual ever to hold high office in the US and appointed by five activist judges rather thn through the democratic process, is a terrorist sympathizer and possibly homosexual (see picture below, where our President embarrassingly shows 'Public Displays of Affection ("PDA's") and tremendous sympathy with a terrorist-rogue country that's responsible for the attacks on 11 Sep 2001.
• Because we now fight a worthless cause in Iraq (should have been Saudi Arabia all along), I can no longer claim to be patriotic towards the USSA.

Now how can you expect me to have any level of patriotism when the PResident has potential sexual orientation problems? Or that harbors and sympathises with terrorists like Saudi Arabia? After all, if they took down our Twin Towers, I'd re-energise Moscow in talks related to dissolving the SALT II missile treaty, and resume both atmospheric and surface blast testing of our nuclear arsenal, and encourage Moscow to do the same.

Instead we get caressing, hand-holding, kissing and around 4,000 dead Americans in IRAQ with around 80,000 wounded.
A trajety, and GWB must be brougt to justice.
