Indiana Age of Majority, Emancipation, and Moving Out
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Indiana

I turned 18 and want to move out from my parents home in with a relative. I and everyone else thought the age of majority in Indiana was 18; and thus becoming a legal adult and being able to move out. I'm getting told otherwise now.

My parents said it is fine for me to move out and in with the relative.

How would I go about doing this? Would I need custodial changes, emancipation; or are we correct and I am allowed to move out at 18?

Would a permission to move (if there is such a thing) from a parent work?

I am not fully self-sufficient the relative would be providing housing and utilities while I pay for food and school.

I've read all around the internet for AoM and I get conflicting issues of 18 or 21.

Please offer any advice you can. I would greatly appreciate it.

    You can move out.

    No paperwork necessary.

Your parents also do not have to pay another dime to your care.

Welcome to adulthood. The perks are nice but the hours suck.
