    Signed Separation Agreement
My question involves divorce in the State of: Maryland

In our separation agreement it states ex will pay my auto insurance until automobile is paid off signed by a Judge.

In second order (contempt) it states (signed by a Judge) since ex was late on most insurance payments.= Ordered, that hence forth the plaintiff shall make all automobile insurance payments on time as due when due.

    So, does this mean? ? ? ?

Now, that I have added our 16 year old daughter to policy and the insurance payment has double,

Is ex suppose to pay for that?

It is still the same automobile, What do you think?

    Thank you!

With regards to the divorce filing, who is the plaintiff? If it's you, then you (plaintiff) must make the payments. If it's your ex then s/he is responsible.

Based on the wording you provided, I'd assume that the judge ordered you (plaintiff) to pay for the insurance as the ex (defendant) didn't keep up with the payments nor maintain insurance on the vehicle as required by law.

    Thanks for the reply,

Ex = Plaintiff Judge ordered Plaintiff to pay insurance until vehicle is paid off.
Plaintiff pays but on occasions is late, being late is crucial because I the defendant will lose rights to use this company, which is also my bank and credit card. One more late payment and I am cancelled. I have terrible credit because Plaintiff stopped making house payments, which caused Foreclosure of our home. So I watch this carefully and when defendant is about to be late I pay it to avoid the consequences.

That is why in Contempt hearing Plaintiff was also ordered to make all automobile insurance on time.

So, I read it as Plaintiff is ordered to make "The" auto insurance payment. I have made a change and added our daughter to the policy, but it is still the same automobile that is not paid off.

What do you think? Thank you!
