Scared in FL 2nd Degree Misdemeanor
My question involves criminal law for the state of: FL

I was caught shoplifting clothing at Kohl's. Law enforcement came out, I had to sign a form that I had shoplifted, but he didn't take me into custody. Was I arrested?? I wasn't fingerprinted or anything. I do have a court date and an attorney... I've paid a $200 civil relief payment to Kohl's.

I have no criminal history at all- the $ amount was approximately $200, but they said they had video of me from a prior "spree" that accounted to over $400. I had shoplifted there one other time (3 or 4 pair of shorts), but I could never have fit $400 of clothing into my purse! I guess my primary question is... was I arrested??

My attorney is going to my first court date (he said I didn't need to go). I am already taking a diversion program that I was referred to. I'm scared to death because I am a licensed professional... and any conviction would take my license away... should have thought of that at the time... I know.

Honestly, if I lose my license to practice... my life might as well be over. How stupid could I possibly be?????

I apologize... I thought that a website called ExpertLaw might be able to answer a few questions. Thank you for pointing that out.

If you doubt your Attorney's advice get a second opinion. Not everyone here is an Attorney and not every Attorney here works in your state or in topic area
