Changing Daughter's Last Name in the State of Massachusetts
My question involves name change laws in the State of: Massachusetts

My daughter is 10yo. and has been wanted to change her last name to my married name for some time now. Her biologicle father wants nothing to do with her and has not seen her for sometime now.
He does speratically pays child support when he wants to.
I know he would not agree to a name change. What are my options?
I have no idea where he is located or how to get in touch with him. Any type of info you could provide would be great

You can petition for a name change, provide notice to the father (directly, or with substituted service if allowed by the court), and convince the court following hearing that it's in your child's best interest to change her name.
