Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
Please Include The Name Of Your State: Mars
Can you believe this old man? He over-looks seasoned, and well respected candidates like Mitt Romney for some young, inexperienced former beauty queen from ALASKA!!! She may be the Governor, but who cares! Texas alone has more people in PRISON than the entire state of Alaska has in population. We're not exactly proud of this, by the way... :(
This old fossil constantly bitches about Barack Not-That-Hussein Obama's youth, and greenness, yet he goes out and picks a VP who's not only younger than Hussein, but only has 2 years of any REAL political experience!!! Has the old man lost his mind??? Has he contracted alzheimers? Or is this some fool-hearty attempt to win over Hillary supporters?
The ONLY thing POSITIVE I see is her looks. Maybe thats it!! He is an old man after all!
I hate to say it, but it looks like Hussein and the Yankee just won the election... Welfare checks for everybody!!!
I blame the GOP for this BS!!! You fools had a perfect candidate (Ron Paul)!! Is liberty really such a bad thing???

Re: Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
A hottie?? Thats a gross understatement, lol. I just have no words for beauty on that level. But, I have thoughts and those are for myself only. Hahahaa.
You are correct, Blue. No real expirience at all. But, I understand the tactic. She's not there for VP, she is a tool to gain any female support he can get. The lady doesn't even know what a VP does all day. Her skills are hunting and fishing all on her own. Her time is consumed by taking care of her child with Down's Syndrome.
I am north of the border, so I can't vote, not that I would this election year, mind you. However, I strongly feel if she were in my office, under my command, I'd be on ExpertLaw.com asking for some advise on harrassments suits.

Zedex, you're a married man. Easy now. For what it's worth, I'm sure souperdave feels the same way :)

McBush is insane!!! First the whole, "at the point of conception" comment, and now this!!! She's just another religious fanatic trying to legislate morality. CAN'T BE DONE PEOPLE!!! Telling a woman what she can and can't do with her body isn't going to stop her!! If I was a woman, there ain't no way in hell I would let one of these preachers boss me around. I know the great Ron Paul is against abortion too, but hey, nobody is perfect.
Oh and this is just the TIP of the iceberg! What about her support of the Patriot Act?

First of all, that would make you president! I better be sitting in the secretary of defense chair!
Second, you NEVER seek legal advice on expertlaw for yourself!!!!!! It must be for your "friend/cousin/pimp/boss/yard boy/babysitter/mechanic/pet"!!! NEVER FOR YOURSELF!!!

Re: Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
Married, not broken, not blind.
I don't know what her pricibles are or where she stands on anything. She's just puuurrrrty !!!
You can have the defense chair, pal. As long as you don't go sliding around her chair. She be mines, all mines !!!
And, you are right: "I need advise for my chicken. Seems he's getting a little,... uh, well you know... cocky about the VP"

Re: Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
She has more experience running government and making decisions (and being responsible for those decisions) than Obama. She has him beat in spades. At least she has run SOMETHING! Heck, Obama has never really been responsible for anything ... and we're going to consider him for the most powerful position on the planet?!?!

Harding and Kennedy both won the Presidency with only Congressional experience. Harding was a U.S. Senator when elected and Kennedy was also a Senator but had also been a House member before the Senate.
Garfield won the WH when he was a House member.
None of the 3 had Executive experience.
Dubya did, as Governor of Texas, see where we ended up!!!! ;)
Look at ALL the "General's" who won the White House, Washington being the first and Eisenhower the last. These men ran on thier popularity and War time accomplishments alone, e.g., W.H. Harrison, Zachary Taylor, U.S. Grant!!
Now, these General's were of course "responsible" for the lives of countless, but does that hardly make them qualified to be President??

That does not mean they were qualified or even good at it.
When the Obama camp is citing Palin's lack of experience, they only make themselves look like ... well, amateurs.

Sorry, but I don't see where he did all that bad given the circumstances. Circumstances conspire to bring about situations that are challenging ... what if we had possessed a lesser man - a man of little will and less backbone - in the White House 7 years ago?
And, remember, the majority of the major media outlets are not sympathetic to the president so, of course, we get bombarded with bad press.
Senator Obama's record in Illinois is virtually non existent, and his record in the Senate is even less stellar. At least Mrs. Palin has done something and has had the stones to stick to her beliefs, not move in the direction of today's breeze.

Generals had management experience. It is a great labor to manage armies in the field.

More so than a man who has done so very little in his professional, political life.

Yes, but at least a Congressional member can say he or she is "familiar" "first hand" with the issues challenging the country, since they have voted on legislative matters in such areas, General's have not.

You might want to look at his voting record before you assume he's taken a look at any real "issues". Given his stump speeches on the trail, I hear a lot of rhetoric about "change", and very little about issues.
Change means nothing. If I'm standing on the edge of a cliff and I fall into the canyon, my position has changed ... it doesn't make me any better off, however.

Voting records are always chopped down by the "other side of the aisle", as they say in Congress, that is simply D.C. "politics".

Re: Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
I don't know... I am pretty impressed with her.
She has real life executive experience. No foreign experience, but, then again, neither does Obama. And, at least, she will have a wealth of experience before she ever assumes the big chair.
She is chairperson of the Alaska Oil and Gas Cooperative that insures that the oil and gas contracts in the state are beneficial to both the masses and the environment. Strong energy information.
She sought an ethics review of a member of a board she was on and won. Even though that board member was the head of the Alaskan Republicans Party.
She turned down the $400 million dollars for the "bridge to nowhere" when pork was forced down her throat. The money was returned.
Her husband is a commercial fisherman... and half Inuit. She is very attached to the common people. When oil jumped, she started legislation to return 1200 to every taxpayer in Alaska.
She has five children. The oldest leaves for Iraq on Sept 11. The youngest was just diagnosed with Down's Syndrome. She was at work 3 days after birth, by the way.
The scandal thrown at her is that she tried to get a state trooper involved in a messy custody battle with her sister fired. This same trooper used his state issued taser on the child in question. I would have wanted him fired as well. Further, there is no linkage between the scandal and the govenor except the familial bonds of the persons involved.
All of this debate, however, comes down to a few points:
One - of course McCain picked a running mate to attract voters and to fill gaps in his own offering. Same as when Barack picked a Washington insider with a wealth of foreign policy experience from a state he lost handily to Hillary.
Two - Saying that McCain picked a hottie is akin to saying Biden is running with a "darkie"... inappropriate. The good Govenor from Alaska does look like the guys on the money... but only because they wore their hair considerably longer in those days.
Three - Pilan brings a resume full of executive decisions and a willingness to go against the structure in place to do what is right. Obama brings a resume full of missed Senatorial votes and a willingness to align himself with whomever will further his political ambitions - including admitted domestic terrorists.
Four - I would much rather debate the experience and credentials of a VP candidate than a Presidential one. Shall we talk about the foreign policy experience of Edwards, Kerry, Carter, Mondale or, even, Kennedy when they ran?
Either way the election goes in November, History will reflect a massive crack in the good old boy network. Something long overdue, in my humble opinion.

Which is what makes the "McCain voted 90% in line with Bush" line so incredible.
The Senate has a quirk... where the vote is listed as unanimous for anything passed.
Therefore, ANY senator there for the same votes would have had the same voting record.
The Obama campaign is actually dinging McCain for showing up and doing his job... granted, it isn't a charge that McCain's team can throw at Obama.... a man that took his oath of office and immediately started campaigning for president.

Re: Old Man McBush Picks a Hottie
Oh I think she is as good a choice for VP as Obama's and evidently has no vanity problems as is the case with Mr. Biden. Politically speaking it was a tactically sound decision and I have a feeling people aren't going to vote based on who the VP is anyway or at least I think that is historically the case.

All kidding aside... as the father of two girls... I am hugely excited about the knowledge that, no matter who wins, that a very large barrier is broken.
Maybe, as a culture and as a people, we are finally starting to rise above what makes us different and focus on what makes us the same.
Presenting a candidate who is a woman or a minority SHOULDN'T influence anyone's vote. That should be as incidental as whether or not they enjoy Suduko.
Finally... any kid CAN be president.
