How to Get Boat Trailer Title
My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Florida

I was given a old boat trailer a few years ago and it has been sitting on the side of my house since then.

The guy I got it from could not find the title or even a copy of registration at the time and he has since moved out of the area and I cannot locate him.

I want to use the trailer, but have no idea how to get it registered.

What do I need to do?

Track down the owner and have him title the trailer over to you. The owner can get a replacement title.

Since I have already tried that, is there anything else I can do?

So what do I do if I can no longer find the owner?

Is there a way to get the trailer registered?

In most states you can get the trailer wieghed. This has to be done at a certified scale. Then take the wieght slip into the DMV office, then have it registered as a home built trailer.

Just go to the DMV office and ask them what you need to do. Usually they have the packets that contain the info.
