Accidental Shoplifting - What Can Happen?

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Saskatchewan, Canada

HELP! I am panicking here...didn't sleep at all last night!! So yesterday my daughter and I (and my small son in his stroller) went to London Drugs (we are in Saskatchwan Canada). We browsed for awhile...picked up a few items, etc. I place a couple of things on the sun shade of the stroller and my daughter was carrying around a box with a small appliance that we were going to buy. Before we got to the checkout she had to go to the washroom, so she gave me the box. I carried it around for a few mins, but then set it on the 'back' basket of the stroller and continued to wait for her. She came back and I was in line at the checkout. I go the cashier to price check something for me, then decided not to take it. Anyway, she rang through our other items and we left the store...FORGETTING to put the box on the till!!! It wasn't until I got out to the van and unloaded that I realized the error!! I immediately said to my daughter OH NO, I have to go back in and pay for this!!! I grabbed the box and went back in. I went to Customer Service and explained...and paid. So I get out to the van with a SICK feeling in my stomach....fold up the stroller to leave and realize that there are the 2 smaller items still on there too!!! UGGGHH! My daughter and I run those back in too...(she was supposed to put them back on the shelf when were were in there becuase I decided against getting them) So...on the way home my daughter tells me that when I ran back in to pay for that box a lady was taking down my license plate number and going back into the store. My question is....am on their cameras for shoplifting or something??? Could they have called the police even though I ran right back in with the items?? I am panicking thinking that the police are going to show up at my door and say that I was on camera shoplifting!! Also, I'm assuming that the 'lady' was a loss prevention person or something?? Would she have just happened to see me at the till or what?? Or maybe was following us the whole time?! I don't get it...there would have been no reason to follow us?!! Do they watch the cameras and then come out and follow you if they suspect something or what?? Do their cameras tape everything so they can give that to the police?? I am an honest person and this was an honest oversight...do I have anything to worry about?? I also want to know why she wouldn't have just spoke to me instead of taking my plate number and going back in?? Nobody spoke to me except the Customer Service Rep who I paid...but how do I know what, if anything, she is doing with my plate number. I'm trying to stay calm and just think..."I realized the mistake immediately and returned to pay for it....and returned the items we didn't want. I have a receipt. What can they do??!" Once I took the items back would she disregard the incident or what? How can I put my mind at ease about this?? THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP!!
