Father's Rights to See His Daughter
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Utah

    hello,

My wife and I are getting a divorce. We have tried for a long time and never could make it work. Before now we have gone through the entire process and we actually came to a settelment. at the time I was happy with the amount of visitation i would receive and we had everything signed and ready to go. at that time and before the papers were filed with the court system, my wife at that time decided that she had seen the light, and wanted to come back. After repeated attempts at trying to come home and my denial, sehe did what i thought was the unthinkable, and tried to commit suicide. It was at that time I decided to give it my all and let her come back. When she came back she came with a large sum of money she had accured during the seperation. Now she is wanting to leave again, and also is wanting me to take her debt and also not grant me the same visitation as she did before. My question is does her unstability give me the opportunity to attempt to get custody of my child, the debt is not important to me, money can be made and lost, but my child is. Can anyone help?

    Of course it does.

Consult an attorney and file for custody. There's no guarantee it will be awarded to you, of course, but you certainly have grounds to fight for it.

Living in this state and being a father mean you have no rights. For the past year i have lived in fear, fear that If i say or do somethig wrong my wife will do somethihg to herself, or to our daughter. I feel like I have to prove that she is a drig dealer to get custody. My daughter doesnt deserve living like this. My wife has never had a father figure. My mother in law has had 7 differnet husbands from abusive to just not "what she wants" and because I live in a state that favors the mother I am going to lose my daughter, and its not right.

If you already think you have all the answers, why on Earth are you wasting our time here?

Just because there are no guarantees does not mean there is no chance. There are NEVER any guarantees. Man up and hire an attorney if you really want that child.
