Getting Around the Law in a Different State
I live in Florida with my girlfriend. I am 19, she is 16.

I believe form a quick read of other posts that it is illegal for us to have any sexual interaction. Correct me if I'm wrong ;)

If hypothetically we drove to Alabama, where the age of consent is 16, would it still be illegal?:D

Transportation of a minor across state lines for the intent of intercourse or sodomy or even just heavy petting can get you in trouble. ...be warned.

Definitely don't take pictures of her naked or in suggestive poses. If they determine that the pictures (which are child pornography to begin with because she is 16) were taken in another state this can open Pandora's box and the FBI loves these types of cases. It's really good publicity in an election year and catching a child pornographer trafficking in child pornography is a slam dunk "hard on crime" case for the State and a nice feather in the cap of the FBI, particularly if they do a joint investigation.

State Felonies are usually tougher prison time, but shorter time, than Federal Prison time. Federal prison time lasts a LONG time.

Outside of that you can Google for the "age of consent" for Alabama even though Alabama does not say Age of Consent outright. It's just different versions of rape, sodomy, and sexual misconduct listed in 13A-6-6*. Per the board guidelines we can't tell you whether or not it is legal (see the stickie).

How about just not having sex with her till she turns 17? Mrs. Kist kept my ass in line until I made her legal. Could it be your girlfriend is at an emotional disadvantage because of her age?.

    Google "the Mann Act".

Taking a minor across state lines to schtup is a really good way of spending a very long time in a federal prison.

Actually your fine where your at. its legal for a 19 year old to have sex with a 16 year old..

    "Florida

The age of consent in Florida is 18, but close in age exemptions exist. By law, the exception permits an adult under the age of 24 to engage in legal sexual activity with a minor no younger than the age of 16.

794.05 Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.-- (1) A person 24 years of age or older who engages in sexual activity with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. As used in this section, "sexual activity" means oral, anal, or vaginal penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another; however, sexual activity does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose Florida code, Title XLVI, Chapter 794"

Did you really just tell a poster that it would be okay to take a minor across state lines for sex?

    Really?

Do you plan on supporting illegal actions often?
