Applying for Citizenship With a Criminal Record in Hong Kong
I live in the US on a greencard, married to a US citizen.
Just before an international trip I went hunting, after any
trip I empty my pockets into my laptop bag. I cleaned
out the bag before traveling overseas (LAX, Hong Kong,
Singapore, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, LAX). After flying
through multiple countries above and transition through HK
on my way home the HK police found 4 22caliber bullets
lodged in the seams of my laptop bag. After an interesting
time at the Hong Kong police station, I was forced to plead
guilty and pay a fine so that I could leave as fast as
possible. Since being in the US for over 5 years I want to
apply for a greencard but do I need to declare this?
There's no way to provide copies of the court documents or
statements from the police... much of which is in
Mandarin. Can I just say "no" to the question on the
application and go on with my life. Needless to say I
don't want this to haunt me forever... thanks for any
advice!

What were you charged with, exactly?
It would be in your best interests to consult an immigration attorney. You don't ever, ever, ever want to lie on immigration forms, no matter what language your criminal record is in.
