Arson Charges
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana
My fiance is incarcerated and has been since Jan. for Arson. He has not yet got sentenced and wont be until Nov. Some recent information was brought up and is contained in letters. He was not the only one involved and was actually in the car passed out during the fire. The note contains the other guy stating my fiance was in the car and he will make sure "the truth is known". He also stated he is still in the dark about it and most likely means he is afraid to tell the truth for he will go down for all. Is this information important in thecase? And any other help you can give? Thank you.

Re: Arson
Give the information to your fiance's lawyer.

Re: Arson
we have a lawyer but we have paid and paid him and he wont help. we have got to see him once and he takes nothing into consideration. He said nothing about the papers. just said huh and took em back and said huh. Didnt keep em or anything. People around our town are lazy even the investigator was suppose to 4 months ago go back to the jail and get the new statement from the other guy that actually did it and hasnt. The investigator has also told my fiances grandmother over 10 times he will be up to her work to talk to her...still has not. we are a small town and there is not much that goes on here. we cant afford to get awhole new lawyer cause this ones almost paid off but hasnt done anything!

Re: Arson
So your boyfriend entered a guilty plea, or is it that he was convicted after a trial?
It's his lawyer's job to figure out what, if any, value the letters have and how to present the information, if at all, to the court.
