Stolen Debit Card
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri
My husbands debit card was stolen and used to empty our bank account, because his PIN was used (they got it along with our credit card, other financial papers, SSN & medical info) the county prosecutor will not charge them for the transactions used with the PIN (over $3000) and only prosecute for the one charge used on our credit card ($72)
Is there any way for the thieves to be held responsible for everything they stole?

Re: Stolen Debit Card
How was the PIN obtained? Did you report the theft to your bank immediately?
Have you consulted an attorney?

Re: Stolen Debit Card
As LawResearcherMissy suggests, with a timely report of misuse of your card you may be able to limit your losses through your bank, although there too their possession of the PIN may affect your remedies.
You can also consider small claims court.
