Completing an Adoption Outside of the United States
I am a Jordanian citizen. My 2 boys (2 years & 4 years old) from my previous marriage are Bahraini citizens. My husband, who is an american citizen wants to adopt them. My ex-husband gave up all his rights on the kids. I am the sole parent for them.

We currently live in Qatar. How can my husband adopt them? What will be required from my husband and myself to do it?

    Thanks!

    International Adoption
If you're not planning to go to the United States for this process, I suggest that your husband contact the U.S. Embassy to try to figure out if they would recognize a Qatari adoption, and if so what documentation they would need subsequent to the adoption. He should also consult an immigration lawyer about the issues associated with trying to bring his newly expanded family back to the United States.
