My question involves child support in the State of: Washington
My son turned 18 last January. Support enforcement discontinued receipt of payments and now it is up to me to get them. My support order states that support is required until "emancipation". My son is still enrolled in high school as a running start student (meaning he is getting a degree in college while also still obtaining his high school diploma at the same time). His father claims he doesn't have to pay child support anymore since he is 18. I have not received any support since January and my son still lives with me just the same as when he was 17. Am I right that it should continue? Or am I missing the definition of "emancipation"?
