    What Happens In Traffic Court
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Texas

So when you go to fight a speeding ticket just how detailed is the actual not guilty hearing? Does the officer actually have to prove with the device used that he clocked you at whatever the stated speed on the ticket was? Or is it basically his word against yours in the form of “well I used radar number so and so and I clocked him at such and such speed”? If this is the case than at that point you would be able to say “well your device hasn’t been calibrated in the last year or whatever the time requirement is and oh by the way you were never officially trained on this equipment either”? Thanks!

Is this a ticket from the accident?

No, it’s not a ticket at all. I was just looking around the forums wondering. In the past when I received a ticket I did defensive driving because I knew it would be dismissed and not hit my driving record. I was thinking if you had no other option, whether it would be worth while to fight or just pay the fines. It just seems as though fighting almost post pones the inevitable. We all can bet that when it comes down to the word of the cop or the offender, the cop will win almost every time if not every time. It’s just some what of a sad reality! Example: The cop pulls you over and says your doing 10mph over but you know you were only doing maybe 6mph over. How do you fight that? It gives the cop wiggle room to be shady and get the county more money. Is it fair to say that all cops do this or even any do? Probably not; but it could happen and no one would be any the wiser. I just know I have met a cop or two in my day that was corrupt and abused their position.
