Caught Shoplifting With My Boyfriend
reading all the posts got me some advice but just so i can plead my own case here...my boyfriend and i were caught shoplifting in a local supermarket for 52 dollars worth of items. we were charged 264.something each 5x the amount stolen and have to pay it by the day after christmas. we cant shop there for 2 years. and we were arrested and charged with petit larcony. they just booked us and let us go with our court date which is jan 6th.
i wasn't worried anything serious would happen i.e. jail time but i'm super nervous about it. i mean we were on video and everything we're so stupid but i cant take it back and have to face the music. neither of us have even been arrested before, and we were charged with a class a misdemenor. i was just going to start looking for a lawyer. i'm 24 and he's 22. i was just wondering if jail time was a possibilty or without a laywer its a possibility or what the usual sentance was.
