Emancipation
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Pennsylvania
I am 16 years old I live in a broken home about 4 years ago my mom and dad seperated and about 2 years ago my dad took off and left to FL. I live with my mom but she is a drunk. When she comes home from works she drinks until she goes to bed gets up in the morning goes to work then comes home and drinks untill she goes to bed its the same everyday and when she is off she drinks even more. All she dose is yell and scream at me for the most stupit things and puts me down all the time. All we do is fight and I can't take it anymore I can't go to my dad for help because when I do he tells me one thing and my mom another and he is always switching his story so I can't go to him. I know that I could take care of myself I am in school but I do cyber and I have had a little job since I was 11 years old. I have just recently got my license and I am curently looking for a better job so that I can have an income. Please help me I don't know if I should try to get emancipated or not or if I should just just wait it out until I am 18 or if I even have a good enough reason to please help me I dont know what to do.

Re: Emantipation
In Pa emancipation depends on what county you live in, without knowing what county that may be it's impossible to even speculate if there is even a statute to follow.

Re: Emantipation
The Juvenile Law Center used to publish information on Pennsylvania's emancipation policies on its website; they may still be able to provide some guidance about your county.
