can the government give me help?
what do i do
Re: Emancipation Help for a 17 Year Old
One of the requirements for emancipation is a clean record and the ability to support yourself.
You have neither.
So no emancipation in your future. Start thinking ward of the state. Start thinking foster care.
But don't waste your time thinking emancipation. Won't happen.
Re: Emancipation Help for a 17 Year Old
New Hampshire has no emancipation law. Further, even if there were a law, no court would emancipate a minor who is a high school drop out with no job, no driver's license, and who is out on bail for a felony.

ward of state? i called my mom just now and she doesnt know what to tell me all i can rely on her is for cigs and clothes what do i do? can the state pay my buddys mom for havin me stay here or somethin
Re: Emancipation Help for a 17 Year Old
CAN the state do that? Sure, they COULD. There's no law that says they can't.
WILL the state do that? I wouldn't hold my breath. Juvie Hall is a more realistic option. Unless your friend's parents have been approved as a foster home, it's not likely you'll be allowed to stay there permanently.

No, we the taxpayers aren't going to support you, not while you already HAVE someone who is supposed to be doing it. Whether she likes it or not, your mother is legally responsible for your upkeep til age 18, until and unless a court says otherwise.
