Statutory Rape Conviction
I have no where to go for help.
Problem:
A friend of mine is sitting in jail for the last 7 years for statutory rape. The girl who accused him was 15 or 16 at the time. She lied and said she was 19 when they first started dating. After he came to know she was 15, he broke off with her. This lead her to be furious so she made allegations that he raped her. Her id shows that she is not a minor but she is a minor on her birth certificate. He was released on probation and was arrested couple days later when he was in the probation office with family members under the age of 18. The probation officer said it was okay if he was to visit family but when he showed up he was arrested and now sitting in jail. What can he or I do?
