Show Up for Hearing?
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of:
PA/cambria county
I recently got summons for a debt of $1200. Called collection company and set up payment plan of 125 a month. They are sending paper work. When I asked if I should show up in court now they said not to and that they would get automatic judgement and everything would be fine as long as I pay.
My wife said to file papers that show payment plan with court and to show up at hearing (8/21). That the judge will not file judgment then. Thanks for any help.

Re: Show Up for Hearing?
I would go with your wife's suggestion, honestly.
Why let them slap you with a judgment that will affect your credit for ten years?

Re: Show Up for Hearing?
If you show up with a payment plan, you will have a judgment entered against you. I would show up to protect your interests, but there is little chance of preventing a judgment if you show up and admit to the debt.

Re: Show Up for Hearing?
I read that the judge might not be to happy with the fact that they have an agreement and still chose to go to court? When I get the payment schedule in the mail should I make a payment or wait till the hearing? Thanks for any help
