Private Phone Calls Being Listened in On
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio.

My soon to be ex-husband is doing it again. I had the landline/home phone removed after I was grilled by my husband about a phone call. Later I learned he knew everything I talked about and with whom due to him bugging the phone. That was several years ago. Now I am told by my mother that spoke to my husband that he admitted to listening in on my cellular phone calls. I don't know how he's doing it, but I am really pissed. Can I have him arrested for invading my privacy?

He pays the bill on it but it was for my personal use. I feel like he spied on me and doesn't trust me. I think it just hurt my feelings.

You might be surprized at how many people listen to cellular phone conversations. All you need is a scanner and obtain the frequency that the cell phone operates on. Which most cell phones operate in the 900mhz frequency range. Most likely that is how he is doing it.

Used to be able to do the same thing with cordless phones at one point and time.

Now wether or not it is legal to do is another thing. Which I can not answer that question.

In order to arrest someone you would need proof of the crime you are alleging, I don't think that your mother's statement about an admission will suffice.
Check with your local law enforcement agency.
