H1B Transfer

Hi

I work for a consulting firm who applied for my H1B visa. I was lucky enough to have my name picked up for the lottery this year. But about a week ago, I was hired by this other firm with a better job title. Do any of you know what the transfer process is for my case? So help you understand better, my previous employer applied for my H1B, I have an EAC number in hand but now I’ve been hired by another company. When can I apply for a transfer? After I get it stamped sometime in Oct???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
