Can anyone tell me what a ( Motion for Leave to set for Pretrial Conference) means? Also can a Plaintiff engage in a ( Limited Discovery ) without having gone to trial yet? This is after I have answered a summons using the SOL defense and requested a jury trial.
    Thankyou

The title, "Motion for Leave to set for Pretrial Conference" doesn't make much sense, as courts usually schedule a pretrial as a matter of course. Presumably the moving party is asking for a pretrial conference.

The parties can engage in whatever discovery is permitted under the laws and court rules of your undisclosed state. Read the court rules.

    Thankyou for the response
I've never been through this so I didn't know what
( Motion for Leave to Set for Pretrial Conference ) meant.

Are they leagaly able to start a discovery before a trial or judgment has been given? It sounds to me like there getting a judgement before any trial at all ! Do I have to settle at this Pretrial conference? or can I still demand a jury trial?
