Eviction Due to Sale of House
My question involves an eviction in the state of: CA
I am sure I will get evicted very soon, because I told my landlords I'm consulting an attorney and they flew off the handle and got really mad and screamed at me.
I have only been here two months and they have suddenly decided to sell the house. I thought I'd be here at least 2 years. I have a month to month lease. The other roommates have been here years.
Additionally, when I moved in, I paid all of my rent and deposit beginning May 1, but they wouldn't let me move in because they "couldn't" get the previous, non-paying renter, out of my room. (My landlord had a crush on him). I was actually homeless, driving around in my car and sleeping in Walmart parking lots! (I have no safety net; am on low income disability). It was extremely hard on me, because I'm a disabled woman in my 50s, have diabetes, and it took at least a month for my health to recover.
This is an assault on my stability. I don't have the funds to rent a van, hire movers, and pay big deposits on the next place. I feel that at least they should pay for my expenses of moving out, but they say they don't have the money and don't feel that they should.
Don't I have any rights when I'm being jacked around like this?

Quote:
I have a month to month lease.
Then you have the right to 30 days notice to leave.
It is not their responsibility to pay to relocate you.
