Retail Fraud in Alabama

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Alabama

Me and my friend were informed that we were caught on tape committing return fraud at a local retail store. We both committed fraud of $630 each. We are first time offenders and very stupid and want to do whatever we can to lessen the charge. What steps do we need to take to resolve this issues? Should we try to resolve the issue with the store or turn ourselves in to the police or talk to a lawyer before we do anything? What possible penatlies are we looking at with being first time offenders with perfect records and good standing? We have each also committed return fraud without being caught before at the same establishment months ago of $1000 each can this be traced back? Thank you in advance.

As I know the manager at this retail chain would it be a very bad idea to call and ask for some kind of internal resolution as paying for the product or something with interest?

Have you been charged with retail fraud?

If they are taking action against you it would be a seriously bad
idea to have contact with aybody at this place. It might very well
be considered a crime to have contact

The manager texted me saying i am dumb and that they have camera footage and know who I am. There was no actual footage of me doing anything but returning the product. No charges have been made yet as of yet thats why I was looking to see if an internal resolution could be made. I have been checking to see if there was a warrant out because I want to turn myself in because I know what I did and need to take the punishment due. Is there any other way of knowing if you are going to be charged other than either a warrant being issued or police showing up at my door?
