Finding Forms For Emancipation
My parents and I are in full agreement that it would be in the best interest of me if I was to be emancipated so that I could get a work permit and work, and also get my GED earlier so that I can start college courses sooner. I'm sorry if you were looking for a juicy story on a kid who despises their unfit parents but this is not one of them. My mom's great and very supportive. Emancipation is the only way for me to get going with my life and not have to wait for the proper age to work and graduate highschool. I make excellent grades, am an honor student and have a full view of where my future's headed. I've been searching everywhere and cannot find any printable legal documents for emancipation in colorado. So I would appreciate any info or sites that have the proper legal documents for petitioning an emancipation for a minor in the state of colorado. Thanks:)

You must already be supporting yourself. They won't let you be emancipated so that you can begin supporting yourself.
Re: Need Forms For Emancipation In Co?
Emancipation is not required for a work permit in any state. Your parent's permission is sufficient.
Also, if I recall correctly, CO is one of those states that does not emancipate minors.

cbd, you are correct.
However, if your parents are in agreement, there is nothing preventing you from moving out... as long as your parents approve.
You will have a heck of a time finding an apartment and a job... and all other age related restrictions (tobacco, alcohol and sex) are still in place.
