Green Light at Intersection with Island Stop Sign
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Georgia
I have been living in Georgia for the last 7 years and was just pulled over for my first traffic violation. I was pulled over at an intersection with 3 other cars for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. This was a right hand turn where the intersection slits off with an island. I always thought that the traffic signal governed the turn over the sign. Since there was a green light I did not come to a complete stop. Do I have any grounds for fighting this in court or should I just suck it up and pay the ticket. I have looked all over the internet for this answer but I am having trouble finding a particular case the this applies to. What added insult to injury is that I was the last of the 3 cars in line so it literally took them over an hour just to get to my car :(
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
Thank you

Just pay the ticket.
The judge is unlikely to be sympathetic, and it can be pretty humiliating to be told in open court that stop signs mean stop.
(Or worse, have the judge ask you if you fell asleep the day Sesame Street talked about stop signs, as happened to my neighbor when trying to fight a failure to stop. Seriously, just pay the ticket.)
