Parole Granted and then Denied
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
I have a friend that is currently in prison. The original sentence was in 2004 for 2 to 7 years. He went up for parole and was granted parole. Two weeks later he received notice that his parole had been "taken back" because of information received regarding an investigation. On the report it says that parole is being taken back because he is under investigation for a crime in 2004.
If my friend is in prison, how can him being under investigation affect his parole...he hasn't been charged with anything in 4 years? How long can this investigation continue? Is there anything that can be done?
Re: Parole Granted and then Denied
He can cooperate with the investigation.
Apparently, the authorities don't want to go looking for him.... and, right now, they know exactly where he is.

I can aggree with this. Also he is still under his sentence. So they can revoke his parole until later. They may release him on parole after the investigation is completed. Someone he knows or someone that knows him may have dropped his name during questioning. Now this person maybe a person of interest. Which that want to be able to question him.
