Is My Daughter Really Emancipated in Nevada?
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: NEVADA
My 16 year old daughter who does not live with me just recently had a child. I pay child support to her mother every month.
Now, Here is my question. Her mother just told me that my daughter has just become emancipated and they can't put her or the baby on their insurance. She said our daughter has just become a legal adult. Is this true? That now she can get medicade, wic and help from the state. How does she know this and does this mean I'm done paying Child Support? Because in our divorce decree it states that I pay child support until our daughter is 18 Years old or until she marries our otherwise becomes emancipated. I need to know what I do now about child support! Thank you

Nevada emancipation statutes are here.
Unless you signed a paper consenting to her legal emancipation, no, she is not emancipated. Nevada requires the consent of BOTH parents for legal emancipation.
Having a baby does not emancipate you.
Ask your ex to see the court order relieving your daughter of the disabilities of a minor. I suspect there is not one.

Now... your child is MEDICALLY emancipated in all things related to your new grandchild...
But your child, herself, is not emancipated without the proper red tape being cut.
