Charge Dismissed Due to Lost Ticket - Will Charges Be Refiled
My question involves criminal law for the state of:Indiana
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum here and just had a question. I got a drinking ticket at the end of May and just had my arraingment (sp) yesterday. The only problem when I got there, they lost my ticket. I told them my last name and said they could not find it and had me fill out a sheet. The sheet looked like State v. Me. I was just wondering the likelyhood of them "finding" my ticket. They said they had 2 years to find it. But then also said the most probably thing that would happen if they found the ticket and I have not got in any more trouble they would just drop the charges. Do you guys think they were just trying to scare me with the ticket? Or what?
If anyone can help that would be great. You can be as mean or friendly as you like lol.

Nope. because that would be a waste of everyone's time, and the courts are too busy to play ridiculous games.

Sounds like they simply lost the ticket. Whether or not they'll find it before the 2 years is up is anyone's guess.
