Speeding in a School Zone
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Florida
Ok, It's summer time. No school. You are driving 46 in a 35 (ok speeding anyway), but you get ticketed for 46 in a 20 due to a school zone. If school is out and no lights are flashing, is it still 20 mph in a school zone or should it be 35?. I have heard that the school zone times are controlled by the law and that the light are mearly a reminder.
Please help.
Thanks
David

It was a weekday but not a day that school was in, so I guess technically it was not a school day. Is that what you mean?
Thanks,
David

School must be in session forthe school zone speed to be in effect. The flashing lights usually are the indicator of when the school zone speed is in effect. I had a cop in Nevada try and hit me for the samething once.
