Emancipation For A Non-Resident In Louisiana
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Louisiana

I am 17 years old and i live in the state of Idaho. I know emancipation is illegal in Idaho but I have a friend who is 18 in New Orleans who is willing to become my legal guardian for the whole 5 months i have left until i am 18 myself.
Who ever is reading this is probably thinking why cant you wait 5 months?

because it is surely that bad. for years my stepdad has beat me, degraded me and made me feel like i'd be better off dead. I have been kicked out numerous times by force just to go a month or so and have my mom call me in as a run away. In the last month it has just been too much for me between the stress of recovering from surgery and my best friend moving to Louisiana. That and it's escelated to the point where i am scared for my life.

I was wondering if there was some way when i go down to New Orleans to visit my friend if i can be emancipated down there even though i do not actually reside in the state of Louisiana yet.

    Please help.

If you are scared for your life, you need to call CPS.

In Idaho, you can call the statewide number at (800) 926-2588, or choose your local number here.

No. Even if you were a resident, you'd need parental consent and proof that you've been living completely on your own already.
