just this past weekend my cousin 23 yrs of age was sucker punched by a guy who he says has been herrassing a friend of his for several months. this was the case again, the man came over to herrass this friend of his, and his friend went to the bathroom to remove himself from the situation. my cousin was left to deal with the situation with a female friend of his. when they turned to walk away from this guy he punched him above the left eye. causing a bad cut and knocking him out. my cousin was told by police the man would be charged with only simple assualt. there were statements taken of his prior actions toward my cousin and his friends but to my knowledge no other charges were filed. the man that hit him is very well built and has fought in amature full contact fights, (like ultimate fighting). what i want to know is what are my cousins legal rights civily. what can he go after with this guy to teach him a lesson. please help
