Can I Ask Court for Name Change
My question involves name change laws in the State of: MD

Mom and dad never married. After baby was born, mom gave baby mom's last name and dad signed the AOP. Mom filed for custody and dad asked for paternity test. Dad beelives the child may not be his, but if it is, dad wants childs name to be changed to dads last name. What are the chances court will agree to name change if dad willingly signed AOP with child having mom's last name?

Depends...How old is the child?? It wouldn't be uncommon for a Judge to order a hyphenated name...ie...Smith-Jones.
