Class B Misdemeanor Theft Expungement
My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of Texas... I am 26 years old, and about 5 or 6 years ago I got a Class B Misdemeanor for Theft >$50 at a retail location (walmart). Huge mistake. I got deferred adjudication after pleading No Contest, and completed my 9 months of probation. My problem now, is that I am wanting to join the US Army, and this will hold me back as the job I want to go for required Secret Clearance.
Is there ANY possible way to get RID of this charge? A simple non-disclosure will not hide it from a government agency, however a full expungement should. I have plenty of references for my character, including a police officer (my Dad), the chief of police in my city, my boss, etc. I have been a volunteer for a non-profit youth organization for a few years as well... is there anything I can do to help my case out?? Surely somebody out there will be able to give me a second chance.

Unfortunately, no. Texas only offers expungement in cases where the defendant was found innocent of the charge or when the charges were dropped.
