Car Towed From Complex In Maryland
Hi, i've a question about some strange law i was told
about this morning from my landlord.
Lets start from scratch, i live in Glen Burnie at the Gatewater Landing apartments since October, i purchased a nice brandnew motorcycle in february, i have two parking spots per contract, i always park the bike
next to the fence and the car next to it, which uses about 1 1/3 of
my two parking spots.
So yesterday i walk outside at about midnight to go get something from
7/11... my car was gone, so i checked if for some reason i parked elsewhere
on the lot, nope, car was gone.
I called the police station to report it stolen, but they told me a company
called North County towed it for using 2 parking spots.
Now the fun part, i've talked to the two guys how operate the tow trucks
quite a couple of times because they love my bike, NUMEROUS time did they
drive by me when i parked this way NEVER did anyone tell me i can't do that (and its been 4 months now).
So car is gone, i call there yesterday, they are closed until Monday 8am, great cant get to work because my keycard is in the car, i ask my landlord why i got towed and explained the situation, he was like: "Yeah there is a law that the county doesn't allow you to take up two spots, you can park your bike in one and the car in another but you cant park both in one"
How am i supposed to know that, noone ever told me and many people (from the complex management aswell the towing company) saw me with my bike and car parked in the very same way, shouldn't someone have mentioned it?
Are there any legal steps i can take?
Thank you, Juergen

Q: Are there any legal steps i can take?
A: Hire a lawyer.
Re: Car Towed From Complex In Maryland
i drove to the state police department and told them the story,
the officer told me to address this issue to the apartment manager
once more and definitly take legal steps if they don't drop any
charges, there is no such law and if im allowed to use two spots
it doesnt matter how i use them.
so if they dont release my car tomorrow ill go get a rental
