What Happens Once The Warrant Is Sworn
My question involves an arrest warrant from the State of: Michigan
The warrant may be sworn on Monday. What is the procedure once there is an arrest warrant? If I know where the person is, say I drive by and see the vehicle, can I call the police and let them know where this person is? If they get the warrant on Monday, will they start looking for the individual? Any advice as to how that goes would be appreciated. It will be a felony warrant for sexual abuse of a minor and contributing to the deliquency of a minor.
Re: Once The Warrant Is Sworn.......
It will be up to the police to serve the warrant. When and how depends on caseload.
Re: Once The Warrant Is Sworn.......
In your particular case, since there is high flight risk, I'd imagine the prosecutor's office would ask the sheriff's office to serve the warrant (rather than the usual passive method of just entering it into the system and waiting until some day when law enforcement just happens to run across the guy during a traffic stop). Once it's issued, it'll get entered into several tied-together systems, and once that's done, he's fair game to law enforcement across the country. Can take a day or two to get the entry in, but usually no longer than that. Once you know it's active, you can most certainly advise your local city police or county sheriff's office of the whereabouts of a wanted person so they can pay a visit.

Thank you to both of you for your responses. I have knowledge that he is most certainly going to be in town for the week but has plans to leave the state by the weekend. I guess all I can do is pray at this point. Thank you for your valuable and needed advice.
