Okay. Help please. I live in Ohio, I was a foster child but they took guardianship of my sister and I. I want out, I want to be emancipated. I have an adult who is willing to take me in, she would carve it in stone. But, when I talked to my social worker she basically told me that it won't happen because of my deceased mothers past of drugs and alcohol, to me this doesn't seem fair. I'm beginning not to trust what any of them say, so I'm asking for help here.
You guys say you have to be married or in the armed forces, but why are they offering it to me???
I'm seventeen with four months until I'm 18.
They get all of my social security money, and still get payed for "taking care" of me. Yet, I'm more than willing to show receipts stating that I buy my own things. I cannot remember the last time they bought me something I needed. They completely ignore me. I have a job and still I pay for the things I need, my cell phone, gas and car insurance. I really don't get enough hours to be paying for all of this, plus I don't think it's fair. They never bother to get me dinner or rather less feed me.
They just recently took my car and cell phone away because I had a c on one of my final exams.
I live 20 minutes from town with no car. & every morning when I wake up their all gone, with no note and no phone call.
I'm needing the best legal advice I can get. Because I know I can support myself. I'm ready. I just don't know all there is to know about the situation, so please help me.
