Walmart Shoplifting
My question involves criminal law for the state of:
i was recently caught shoplifting at the local walmart, and had merchandise under $15, i was taking to a back room, told i was banned from all walmarts, and was told that i would have to pay a fine, and would recieve a letter from there lawyers in the mail, my question is how long should it take to recieve that letter with the fine included, and once i pay the fine is this done and over with?

Re: Walmart Shoplifting
You should receive the civil demand letter in a few weeks. Once you pay that it should be over, but they probally put you into the nationwide theft data base so it will be hard for you to get a job in retail if thats what you do. I suspect you are also banned from the store, so if you return to any walmarts you can be charged with trespassing.

Re: Walmart Shoplifting
Yes, The Retailer, Especially The Large Retailers Can And Do Communicate With Each Other Through A Corporate Headquarters.
So In Defining That, You Can And Most Likely Would Be Charged With Criminal Trespass, Just For Walking In The Store.
Of Course The Law Varies From State To State.
