First Time 11357(b) Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I was recently charged with possession of under 1 ounce of MJ. I am 17, I have a squeaky clean record. My question is, if convicted will my driver's license be suspended for 1 year? I was caught in my car, and the stuff was found in my car. I've yet to find a straight answer. Also, if my alternative is a diversion program, will they inform me of this? Or is it up to me to seek it. Lastly, the officer wrote me a ticket but did not write a court date and told me I "may or may not be notified of a court date." What could this mean?

Yes, because you are a minor.
Also note:
Quote:
Decriminalization: The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation.

Exactly what it says. You might get called into court, you might not.

You're a juvenile so you were probably referred to the juvenile probation office. If so, they will contact you, and you and a parent or guardian will likely have to come before a probation officer to discuss options. If no settlement is reached, then you could go to court.
It is also likely that if a true finding (guilty verdict) is made, then your license will be suspended.

Re: First Time 11357(b) Charge
Could anyone give me a time frame for how long PC 1000, or whatever program they could put me in, lasts?
I tried to edit but every time I pressed Post, it just sent me back to a blank form, so sorry if there is any double posting.
