How Do I End Child Support?
My question involves child support in the State of: Maryland
The mother has resented the fact that I have gotten remarried and has poisoned my relationship with my children to the point of no repair.
My question is how do I end support for my two children who the mother has turned against me and no longer want me in their lives?
Re: How Do I End Child Support?
When the child support order expires, you may stop paying support. It is highly unlikely that a court will end support before that time. If there are issues that need to be brought to the attention of the court, in relation to your ex's conduct in relation to the children, by all means bring an appropriate motion.

I have filed contempt of visitation papers but is there any court-mandated sanctions that I can have placed against her for (a) denying me court ordered visitation and any reasonable relationship with my children and (b) causing me emotional distress from my children turning their backs on me.

You can request make up visits, and counseling for children and both parents.

How old are your children?

To answer your question exactly - you can stop paying child support when the order expires (when the children reach X age) or when someone else assumes that responsibility through a legally recognized adoption.
Until then, no matter what the ex does, you pay.

How old are your children?
my son is 16 and my daughter is 15; I know they are old enough to see what is going on but I think alot of it is that my ex is the custodial parent and the kids are siding with her (which is another issue in and of itself).

I knew that but it just doesn't seem fair that she could do this (over & over again); the money is the only leverage I seem to have in this situation.:wallbang:

Ah, but the money really ISN'T the leverage. It's been ordered by a court and isn't dependent on what mom is doing. If she's denying visitation, then you drag her fanny back to court for violating the court's order. And if she's poisoning the relationship, go her a step further and request custody on the grounds that you will be more likely to try to foster a positive relationship with the other parent, than she is willing to do for you.

I have a hearing on the contempt issue on Monday; is that the proper forum to make the request for custody?
